The BBC has reported on the Cecil Lion Summit announced by Panthera and WildCRU earlier this week. Utilizing the global outpour of awareness around lions following the killing of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe, this landmark summit will be held at the Recanati-Kaplan Centre in Oxford in 2016 to bring together the world’s leading wild cat scientists to reassess how the lion can be saved across Africa. 

Although highly social and visible to tourists, the lion, unbeknownst to many, is in free fall across its African range.
